Hungarian accessories brand YKRA – pronounced eek-rah – is the brainchild of Balázs Lakatos, who co-founded the brand with his wife Judit Balogh in 2011. The designer’s unique style stems from his passion for 70s vintage mountaineering gear and his Yogoslavian upbringing, where colorful polyester fashion was characteristic of the communist eastern bloc. Handcrafted from the finest quality materials, YKRA’s backpacks, tote bags, pouches and wallets combine modern technology with the look and feel of a bygone era. Using Italian leather and thick cotton canvas sourced from the Czech Republic, the bags are 100% natural and are manufactured using traditional methods in Hungary that supports local workers.
