Kindling is a place to explore the new ideas and fresh perspectives that come with being a parent. It’s non-judgmental, unfussy and made to be enjoyed by anyone currently raising a child under the age of ten. We’re interested in exploring the big ideas around parenthood, not what your child should be having for dinner or wearing at the weekend. Compact and colorful, the magazine is designed to be kept and treasured—whether on a coffee table or a child’s bookshelf.
Inside The Emotions Issue, you’ll find an interview with the professor of psychology who advised on Pixar’s Inside Out, a workbook geared towards helping your child talk about their feelings, and a photo essay in which fruits and vegetables bring common idioms to life. Just ask yourself: What would it really look like to be “cool as a cucumber”?
Kindling is also packed with features and columns that answer questions including: What’s it like to spend four years traveling with your parents? What can the Gruffalo teach us about fatherhood? And how should you answer a child if they blindside you with a tough question like “Why do people die?”?
Designed to be read by adults but shared with children, Kindling is brought to life through the playful drawings of Norwegian illustrator Espen Friberg, and contains an activity section packed with suggestions for fun, free and (occasionally) educational games that parents and children can enjoy together.
Shipping within Canada
We offer free shipping to Canadian addresses with any order over $150. For orders of any amount under $150, we charge a flat rate of $15.
We make every effort to process your order as quickly and carefully as possible. All Canadian shipments are sent by Canada Post using expedited parcel service. All packages are insured up to $100 and can be tracked online. Once your order is shipped, we will send you an email with your tracking information which you can monitor here on canadapost.ca
*Some exceptions apply for the provinces of Nunavut, North West Territories, and Yukon, with a flat rate of $20 on all orders & Free shipping on orders over $300.
*Local Pick-Up is a shipping option. Pick up is at our store located: 94 Gore Street East, Perth, Ontario.
United States Orders
We offer $10 flat rate shipping on all orders over $150. For orders of any amount under $150, we charge a flat rate of $15.
International Orders
For the rest of the world, you will be charged based on location at check-out.

Our packaging is made of eco conscious materials, and we try to limit overwrapping and waste as much as possible.
Aprikose cannot be held responsible for packages that are late, lost or damaged by Canada Post and that customs and duties and other taxes are the responsibility of the customer.
Some items have non-standard dimensions and may require additional shipping charges. If needed, we will contact you after your purchase to inform you.
Returns
Your satisfaction is our top priority. If for any reason you are not pleased with your purchase, we will gladly accept return within 14 days of receiving your purchase.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Non-returnable items include magazines and undergarments, including socks and underwear. Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Exchanges (if applicable)
We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at andrea@shopaprikose.com.
Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
